Currently working on removing my rocker shaft off a 66 318 LA engine. I know in order to remove it the rocker shaft lock plug must be released. Does anyone here know how to pull this plug and then slide the shaft out? what tools did you use and what process did you use to remove it?

 

I must be missing something here.... A Photo Might help....
But as far as removing the O.E.M. Rocker Shafts on an L.A. motor... Just unbolt the shafts and remove the assembly.

 

Already figured it out there was a small plug that had to be pulled to release it

 

? The plug on the end maybe 3/4" does not normally get removed except for cleaning.As you have found out the rocker shafts un bolt
