383 build question

So the deal is I am wanting to do a build on my 1968 383. I currently am running an edelbrock 750cfm carb with edelbrock performer intake, dual 2.5" exhaust and 3.23 gears. I want a good daily driver machine but something with some jam for a decent price. I looked at doing a stroker kit and that was going to be too much money.

Currently I am toying with the idea of heads and cam. obviously I need to do lifter, rockers and a stall converter too. Is there anything else I am missing.

Also I have a lead on a set of factory modified heads that are a 452 casting, 1.73 intake, 2.03 exhaust and an 85 cc combustion chamber. would these be worth while if I got them for a good price compared to the current factory ones. Insight from any and all is accepted and appreciated.
