40s or 44s

Can anyone tell me the difference between the Flowmaster 40 and 44. I want to put a set of either on my 72 Duster 360. It does have headers and are 2.5" pipes to the rear. Thanks...Bill

Bill...Are you looking at the street muffler or the race muffler?
Do you want it load or just to flow better?

40's have 1 baffle
44's have 2 baffles
two answer your question.....

40's are load.. You will like it as long as you dont drive it all the time....
They do flow well also @ 2.5 - 3.0" in pipe size.....

Just food for thought....

Bob, Do the 44 sound good?? I like it to be loud at times but I hate mufflers that drone and make you deaf..And would hate to have to tear the whole car apart to add more sound deadener..Do the 44s flow good or are the restrictive... This is a street car but when kicked in the *** I want it to go...Bill

Flow is fine for the 2-1/2" you have on..and for both mufflers....
Go the 44's I think you will be happy with those (in my opinion)... 40's might be a little aggravating when just out for a drive...
