78 Dodge W150 No Spark Help Please
Hello,
Im Mason, I have a 1978 Dodge W150 with a 360. It has no spark, I have done a spark intensity test from the coil plug wire to a good ground. No spark. So I replaced the coil, still no spark, replaced the ballast resistor and the 5 pin ecu. Still no spark. Replaced the battery with a little bit higher cold cranking amps. Still no spark, so I started to do tests with a multimeter at the 5 pin Ecu plug and they all check out. 12 volts when battery is fully charged at 12 volts in 1-3 cavities and between 4-5 the resistance is correct from the pick up coil in dizzy. The Ecu is also showing it has good ground. So idk what my problem is. I have un did my whole wiring harness and there's no chewed up or burnt wires. Can someone tell me what's going on or maybe some suggestions. I have looked at wiring diagrams and everything is hooked up right according to the diagram. It's not that crazy of a system, but it has stumped me at this point. I don't know what's going on. Please help. Oh and it cranks over fine but no spark or fire. Thank you.
one other random question, would you lose Spark at the coil because the pick up coil or reluctor is bad? Or does that just have to do with spark for the plug wires? Because I have no spark at the coil, I haven't replaced the pick up coil or reluctor. But that's litterly like the only things I haven't replaced, those or the alternator. Thank you again.

Have you verified all the connections in the harness plugin at the cowl, this is a problem aria.

that is a good idea, but the only thing that would be hooked up there would be the ammeter and the ignition switch right? Those both seem to be working, it cranks over fine. Just no spark at all.

it ran before and never back fired, What would the timing chain have to do with getting spark back? I don't even have Spark at the ignition coil wire.

i really want to thank you from my heart bro. This is why I love car poeple and why I got into as a kid. But anyways with your help and alittle more research and use of a test light and multimeter I got my dad's truck running after 10 years of it sitting after he passed away. I have been learning electrical and trying my best to learn all I can just by research and help from car people like us. I just want to say thank you one more time. I will send you pic of the build of you want. Now that it has started time to go through the cooling and fuel systems. Thank you again. Mason.
