78 Magnum Ignition issue

Ok little back story. Been after this same car since I was 16. I'm almost 30 now. The owner finally sold it to me. I get the engine ready to fire for the first time in 22 years. New plugs, coil, fuel pump, etc.

I crank it and after a few it roars to life. I release the key from the start position and it dies. Crank, fire again and it's the same. Now obviously something is not getting a constant 12 volts or ground. Coil or distributor. Here's why I'm confused. Its a 318 with the lean burn removed. How was this removed and rewired??? Better yet how's it supposed to be wired. 2 wires at the distributor and two on the coil. I got one wire I found that fits the ground side of the coil but honestly I'm scared to hook it up. It will stay running as long as the key is in the start position. Any advice is appreciated. I'm dying to take this baby for a test drive.
