Broken drill bit in oil main
Broken drill bit in oil main
Earlier today I finally got back around to working on my B-block that will be going into my 92 Dakota. The primary task today was drilling out the oil feeds to the main bearings that lead to the passenger side oil galley, using a bit purchased from 440Source. When I was drilling the second main the drill bit snapped off bellow the face of the hole and is now stuck in the oil passage. I have tried seeing if i can free it with a pick and had no luck. I have also tried using a smaller drill bit see if I can drill it out but I can't get anything to get through it. I'm at a loss on what else to try on it. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Stack weld with a mig welder until you get enough built up so that you are able to weld a nut to it and use a socket to extract the tap..... This happens more that we hear about, so its not all so uncommon
Good Luck ...
Good Luck ...
When I was in High School Machine Shop Class.... I use to hand grind Drill bits for classmates and get 20 bucks so they would get a good grade on there finals test.... True story !!!!! lol
