You have a shop manual?

I'd be checking the fuel supply end- to end, from the pickup in the tank, the rubber connector hoses, and the possibility of rust holes in the supply tube.

The shop manual tells how to test the pump for good pressure, suction, as well as "some idea" of volume.

Be sure the tank is vented. If you have subbed parts to restore the car, it might not be, or bugs, wasps, etc, may have plugged the vent.

Gas "boil off" on shut down seems to be a common complaint nowadays, with various forms of alcoholized gas.
