Cheap Dakota- Small block intake on Magnum V8

Hi. I'm putting a small block intake on my dakota. The idea is to be as cheap as possible. After all it's a $250 truck. I have access to a mill to drill them but I cannot find any info on the layout of the holes. To get the intake lined up I've put sheets of aluminium about 10 thousandths thick in the ports in an attempt to line up the intake to line up the ports so I can start the holes with a hand drill. Anyone think of a better way or see any problem with this? Kind of feel like I'm going into uncharted waters here.

I am not willing to buy an intake for a couple hundred dollars when I bought this intake for $30.

I can not figure out why you want to do this. Sure you got the intake for 30 dollars but your time has got to be worth something. But if you need a pattern to work with, wouldn't a set of gaskets work? I know gaskets will be a large investment but you will need them anyway.

I was thinking about gaskets too, but I would really like to have a proper layout of the holes. I don't understand why in the vast expanse of the internet there is not a diagram of how far the holes are from each other and the ports.Yeah I will need to get gaskets though. I will probably get some intake gaskets this week, and maybe get this figured out. By the way, anyone have ideas for a fuel pressure regulator? I would like to use the stock fuel pump.

Pulled the heads off this morning talked to a guy about drilling them. We pretty much just need to find a way to hold them in the mill and drill where the holes are on the gaskets. At least if I mess this up, I won't be out hardly any money. Fingers crossed!!

Spending a lot of time and effort for something that may not work out... A lot easier to go the other way
