Chrysler 360 Engine HP?
Hi,
I am the proud owner of a 1948 Chevy c3100 with a Chylser 360 Engine and tranny!!!!!
I was wondering if anyone had any clue how much HP is under my hood.
I do not know a ton about the engine, but here is what I do know:
it is either a 1973 or 1985 360.
It has custome headers, Dual Exhaust with nothing but a glass pack on each side.
It has a brand new Edelbrock 600 CFM electirc Carb.
and that is about all that i know so far...
Any rough estimates would help.
Picture below.

Great looking truck!!! And welcome!!
We would be guessing. We could certainly low ball you assuming small heads and low compression but that truck looks awesome and would leave me to assume someone played with the internals some. Any casting numbers on the head visible?
75 bucks can get you a rear wheel dyno pull and some air fuel numbers.
That's an option..

X2 on the dyno, and a great looking truck... quick google search found this.... 360 E58 (cop car eq.) 4bbl 220hp @ 4000 rpm, 280ftlb @ 1600.... Now that is 1978 stock specs, and from the looks I really doubt it was "left alone" Thats a very conservative guestimate, but you should be able to tell by the way it 'feels' if its above that.....And welcome aboard, lots of help available here if needed....

Ok, now I want to know more.
I rooted around last night and found the following numbers on the engine:
3671585 under the valve covers.
On the front of the block drivers side:
6k 360 88 04 2
180
On the passenger side numbers are
6 DN 7185
Now it looks like the manifold might have been altered from the original, but it may just be te paint on it. Pictures of under valve covers below. Along with pictures of things I would like to remove from the engine because they look pointless. Can I take out the eGr valve and the other two things?
