connecting rod & wristle pins

Hy guys , i'm on the process of rebuilding a 3d gen Hemi 5.7 L, had to buy two new connecting rods because of #7 and #8 spun bearing, tried to put the piston pin by myself by heating the con rod and putting the pins in the fridge, then i made a sort of jig to do the job but with no luck, so now pins have to be removed or moved in postition.
So, heating con rod eye with a propane torch, even if i have been constantly checking the temp with laser gun ,for some reason one of the two reached almost 700 F wich i believe be too much, i know that overheating could be a problem also, these rods are those called sintered fractured, do i have to throw them in the garbage now or they can be reused ? Thank you for your help

Better to leave the wrist pin at room temp and just heat up the connecting rod. with the pin that cold it cools the rod too fast when trying to install the pin.
If you going to use it for a stock application i would say you could use it. and also if its still in good shape and has not cracks are what you did.
But if your going performance, Throw them away and go this way with it >>>> https://www.modernmusclextreme.com/c...tons-rods.aspx

Have to be pressed out. Careful not to damage the pistons if your going to reuse them.
