Crankcase Evacuation System
Crankcase Evacuation System
My car has been apart for the past couple of years (no I didn't loose interest, had some medical issues) and now just starting to put it back together. I considered welding tubes in the collectors for a crankcase evacuation system, but I don't remember how much room there is around the collectors when it's all put back together. Car has a big block with TTI headers. These systems are supposed to be mounted on top of the collectors so the check valve will work correctly, but I'm not sure there will be enough room. Anyone have a similar B body build with one of these systems on it? Is there any room to spare?
I’ve used the header evac system on the street with no problems whatsoever, the only problem you can run into is if you have a restricted exhaust system because at the point of back pressure you can’t have vacuum in the collector.
You can weld the bung in the side of the collector... Install as directed... At the 4 pipes before the collector... You can leave it hooked up for your street drive.... Similar to what Iowin stated, Check the check valves during routine maintenance.
