Cranking but no start

Hi guys, new to the forums. I just bought a 1970 Dart with a 318. I bought it knowing it didn’t run. I am getting fuel and air but no spark. The previous owner redid wiring with an EZ wiring kit and updated a few things. I have power to negative and positive posts on the ignition coil when cranking. I pulled the wire to the distributor to see if it was sparking and it wasn’t. Replaced the ignition coil and no difference. He had updated a few things and I noticed that there is some sort of voltage regulator on top of the ignition coil which has wires coming from the coil negative and positive and they run to the distributor but I don’t see any diagrams showing that section. Previous owner says it was running then he parked it and it wouldn’t start again but he may have been lying. Does anyone have any ideas as to what the issue may be? I was going to go do the distributor, cap, and rotor but if the ignition coil isn’t sparking I would imagine the issue is before the distributor. Tia

First photo with the 2 wires... That is the Voltage regulator for the alternator...

Second Photo is a modification for the ignition system. These us a GM style Ignition Module. It should be connected to a 12 volt keyed source in crank mode and in run mode. More than likey, the module is dead. or it killed the reluctor inside the distributer.

Me I would have done the Pertronix CH-181 kit >>>>>> http://www.pertronix.com/catalogs/pd...tronix2018.pdf

Yeah I went back and retraced my wires and realized that wasn’t correct

Yeah, after looking into it more I am thinking that’s what happened. I think I may just switch to a ready to run distributor

Good Alternative if you don't want to put the Mopar system in....
