Good evening Mopar Madmen, Can someone tell me exactly where my engine serial number is located on my 1972 400 block. An acquaintance told me Chrysler did not put the serial number on the block. I know where the casting number is but can't find the VIN. If there isn't a VIN how do I prove the engine is numbers matching? Found the VIN on the tranny! There is nothing stamped on the right side of the block under the cylinder head or anywhere else. Engine is out of the car and has been freshly rebuilt ready to go back in. Thanks

Thanks moparted, actually found it with lead light. Filled up with paint.
