Engine Tap

Christine is a Fury III, 1968, 318. Just recently she started tapping. Plenty of oil and it feels and looks normal. Should I be considering new oil pump? Im not sure when the current one was installed. I havent had any valves, etc. adjusted as long as Iv had her (1.5 yr).

Thanks folks for the replies. I put a whole can of Seafoam into the oil and ran the engine until hot. The tap didnt take long to go away. Obviously an oil change has been done to rid the Seafoam. Im a huge fan of Seafoam in moderation.

With today's ethanol gas you need to use it on a regular basis. If for nothing else , to get rid of the water
