Hey everyone!

ive been working on tackling an exhaust leak on a 1977 dodge 360. Pulled the passenger side manifold and found it is warped. I dropped it at a machine shop today, but they said they weren’t sure if they’d be able to mill it flat without taking to much off.

as a back up plan, has anyone found a quality aftermarket replacement with the heat riser? There isn’t much availability of used parts, so new might be my best bet. Thanks for any help you can provide.

Well, got the call. The manifold is to far gone. So I’ll definitely need a replacement! Any advice?

I’ve found some reasonably priced aftermarket replacements, but they don’t have a heat riser. Sounds like I’d be ok going that route but was wondering if anyone else has deleted their heat riser?

It would be a little cold blooded but something you could live with.
I put headers on when my truck was 9 years old and ran it for 25 years without the heat riser or heat in the intake at all.

Fortunately I don’t really use it in the winter because it’s in an RV! So I suspect it won’t cause to much issue for me.

I was able to find some Dorman manifolds at autozone. I haven’t bought them yet because they look kind of cheap. I can’t find much for reviews so I supposed I’ll just have to try them out and see how they do!

I went to four parts stores today and no one could even order manifolds. When I search online there appears to be options, but the manifolds are slightly different that the ones I have. Below each large hole is smaller holes; on my current manifolds that does not exist it is solid metal. I can’t seem to find any that don’t have those extra holes. What is the purpose of these holes?

Another update in case somewhat smarter than me chimes in! Though I may have my answer before then.

I was finally able to source the part (I think). The problem is that every website I look on, the passenger side manifold which is the one I need, shows a flat/flush surface on the flange. The one I just pulled off has a protruding surface, which is exactly what all the drivers side manifolds I find online look like. If you are curious what I’m talking about, compare Dorman part number 674-234 to 674-233. I went ahead and ordered the drivers side even though I need a passenger side. I am hoping I made the right choice. I won’t know until Thursday when I have the part though.

The lower holes are for the air injection emission air pump holes....
Some of the exhaust flanges had the beveled flange and some came with a flat flange. The flat one you have to use a gasket with.

do you have a picture of your old one? I have a SBM right exhaust manifold you can have, if it is the same.
