Fuel pump pushrod

I'm trying to figure out why I keep wasting fuel pump pushrods. Maybe I'm supposed to break it in like a new cam/lifter set, does the pushrod spin like a lifter? If that's the case, the rod would need to be replaced when the cam is swapped...

Sounds like it is just not getting enough oil to keep it from wearing. Does the tip just wear out or is it the shaft that's wearing?

Which end? Maybe the cam is damaged? I've never heard of such a thing.

Hummmm... Cant say I have ran into that.... Had one that kept side loading fuel pump arms and giving me issues. But after installing a new pump and rod it all went away... The only thing I remember about it was the rod had a little wear on the shaft side.. Just enough to feel... Never had a problem after that...

If you wasted one the cam is probably damaged. Convert it to an electric pump... Problem solved

First one lasted 10 years, second one 5 years. I'm putting in a new one (to get me by for now) when it arrives, and doing my homework on an electric setup as we speak. I just don't understand what's causing this. So does anyone know if it spins like a flat tappet lifter?

You STILL have not answered the question

WHICH END is failing!!!!?!?!??!????????

If it's the cam end then the cam lobe is probably effed up.

I was trying to avoid answering that question. I wasn't paying attention when I dropped it.
I'll see if I can tell next time I'm at my shop.

The cam end failed this time, and the cam lobe that drives it is scored. Just put in an electric setup and the car is back up and running, that pump is freaking loud though...
