GM Crate Engine - Need advice

Hi, everybody. I got my first project, a 69 Skylark. I have a few questions about the engine, from what I learned from the casting numbers it's a GM 5.7L - casting # is 14093638.

It's a REALLY NOVICE question, but what is the best oil to use since I don't know much about it (mileage, age etc.) I'm in Southern Cali/warm climate. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!

Are you sure your in the right place. This is a Mopar forum and not a GM or Chevy forum.

You're supposed to convince him to go Mopar!
