I just purchased an 85 5th Ave. I was given the carb already torn apart and I cannot for the life of me figure out how the accelerator pump works on this thing. It’s a Holley 6280 lean burn carb. Is anyone familiar with this particular carburetor? The arm that that works the pump up and down just presses down on this model and there’s a very lite spring under the cup that I’m guessing is supposed to return the pump up but it’s working against the heftier spring that goes on the pump shaft so it just goes down. Sorry if this is poorly explained, I just can’t make sense of it

 

I was looking up the holley 2280 and i found there is an LD and HD version of it... what is the difference and are the interchangeable? is there an upside to one or the other?
