lifter question

ok so i pulled my valve covers an a few lifters were a little lose motor is a 318, so i thought ok maybe a push rod is bent so i pull the intake, pull the push rods, install a new set an tighten them to factory specs an i can still move a few of the lifters side to side a bit is this normal??? the truck ran great, did not tick, bang ect ect.... also do you got to tighten them when you turn them motor over as well??? i thought i heard i was supposed to but cant remember

Assuming it is a stock LA 318 motor. The rockers are shaft mounted and non adjustable. The shaft bolts should be tightened to 25-30 ft lbs ???? Look it up... Lifters are pumped up with oil preassure to take up the clearance.. Without oil pressure the lifter may be loose It depends on how fast the lifter bleeds down

Theres no valve adjustment, put the rocker shaft on, torque them down and go.
