Metal shavings
My 10 month old 408 broke a push rod & a roller rocker. I drained the oil & metal shavings were everywhere. Wish I had the money to get a MRL motor.

Maybe you caught it in time and you only lost the oil pump. I'm curious what was the rocker type and maufacturer and the cam lift.

Ouch!

Hopefully the shavings are related to the push rod and rocker.

Summitt roller rockers I think they are called proform. Cam was a 484/284

That sucks but it needs a complete disassemble and cleaning to repair the damage ... Just a guess you lost a rod bearing causing piston to smack the valve bending the push rod and breaking the rocker
