Hey, I recently rebuilt my 318 with a few Mods and I hear that the rings may need a few thousand miles on them to seat,right now it is smoking like an alcoholic,not really a lot of smoke unless I put it under load.Should I be taking it easy on them or should I put them under load.Thanks for any response.

 

I have never liked the idea of just installing rings. Last motor I re ringed was a 400 and I ended up taking it apart again and re boring it
