TBI

Does anyone know what year(s) TBI was used on dodge d100/150 trucks? And how good was this system as far as fuel economy/performance compared to the earliar carb?

I've got a 1989 W-150 (only difference from the D-150 is 4x4). It's got the TBI on it anf I think it was the first year it was used. It's comparable to a 2-bbl carb for performance

Some of the 86/87 models had TBI units on them (Ramcharger for one).

They may provide some better MPG but not like a MPFI compared to a carb. As far as performance goes, the stock units are ok. Like crwchf16 said, they are much like the 2-bbl carbs. Holley does (or at least use to) offer TBI units that provided more air flow and larger injectors that were designed to work with larger cams and/or computer programing.
