1988 tbi 318 how much is possible
how much hp is possible with a tbi 318 money is a little issue but not completely would i be better off putting in a carb motor or putting a carb on mine i would like around 400hp i would be open to dropping in a 360 what do you think. thanks a lot for the help

What is the motor going in for a vehicle? Also, Some states are strict about emissions so you may want to look into that if you haven't yet.
You can get 400HP out of a small block. It would be easier to get it from a 360 though than a 318. Also, if you want to keep the TBI setup, you may need to go aftermarket as I am not sure if the factory TBI can support that much power.

You will either need/want to build the heads you have of buy a set of alum heads that have some rather large valves. Maybe even look into a stroker kit. I'm not sure off the top of my head who has them but that info has been said may times here on the forum.
