Tips on specs for exhaust for 1973 cuda

Tips on specs for exhaust for 1973 cuda
Anyone have tips for specs and smart things to mention when replacing old cuda 1973 exhaust system?
I have to replace a rusty exhaust system, holes in muffler etc on the cuda next week.
However, the auto 'muffler man' doesn't give me much info, just the price ..grr..I have written specs down from various usa sites.
I have done research as much as I can speed learn, and want to ensure it's obviously emission certified, but maintains the cuda look as well.
and any opportunity to increase horsepower/torque? and keep the tone sexy lol. without breaking my bank.
Also sorry if I look like a ********, I am a newbie MOPAR Girl in this space....

The '73 340 (assuming the decals are correct), is a smog motor. Low compression, mild cam and too many "vacuum lines".
If you're planning on changing the exhaust, I would change it not for the current engine specs, since it's going to need a refresh, but for the engine you plan on turning it into (again, assuming you have a 340 and plan on keeping it).
Typically you would go with headers, using a 1 5/8" primary dumping into dual 2" or 2.25" exhausts with Magnaflow type mufflers.
Like I said earlier, besides the safety stuff, the next question is what do you want the car to become.
BTW - I have to warn ya, I tend to err on the conservative side.
