velocity stacks

Hi im new to the forum and new to cars in general, i would like to know where to get tall velocity stack 5 inches or bigger, and how to put them on a 4 bbl carb

Not really any performance gain to speak of...... They just look cool...

I read that the proper length stack creates "sonic supercharging" at high rpms. Something about frequency waves, don't know how true it is and I'm too lazy to research it.

I think that applies more toward Mechanical Injected than Carberated stuff.
Dont get me wrong... I do think there cool...... They do work to a point.. There is a window where they do have some gain... But for the most part... There for looks...

talk about a name dropper. are those 300 valve covers? and a pre 392 engine?

Note quit sure if those where 300 V/C Moe.... How ever you are spot on about it being a Pre 392.....

My Good Friend (Pete the (Greek) as we new him, use to have a whole garage full of these, and those wonderful 300's to go with them.

Just an FYI, Pete won the winternationals at Pomona in 1965 in the M&V Automotive entry out of Pasadena Ca. with an injected small block chevy. But he loved hemi cars.
