I am getting my 70 challenger back together. I have a 528 Hemi going in it. I am going to buy a one wire alternator for it. My question is i see two types of alternators, one "square Back" and one not. I am useing the OEM mounting brackets. Do i get the square back or the othere? My challenger did not come with a alternator.

I'm not too sure that there is such a thing as a "one wire" round back, but with this aftermarket nowadays, anything, I guess. The ORIGINAL "round" backs had inferior low RPM output.

 

Look for a Nippon Denso high amp unit, they give lots of amps at idle.
