64 Fury axle shaft

I am new to the forum, I did a search but could have missed a previous post if this has already been discussed I apologize. I was working on the rear brakes on my newly acquired 64 fury, using a puller to remove the outer flange and drum. Unfortunately it split the outer end of the axle shaft. I have not had any luck finding a replacement.

Does anyone know where to get a replacement shaft or a shaft that will convert it from the 2 piece to a 1 piece design? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Nathan

I think Summit has one piece shafts but I think you need to cut it to length.

strange
All have what you need but if you can find a mone piece shaft for a later later that will work.
I've been assuming you have a 83/4 axel something you need to know.
I would also try usedpart.com...

I did check on Summit, however I will probably have to call as their website said they did not have a direct replacement listing for it. Do you know if any of the later axle shafts are a direct replacement but updated design for these? Did chrysler keep the same housing/rearend and just change the design of the shafts?

This axle has a tapered roller bearing that holds the axle into the axle tube via the backing plate for the drums, I believe. The outside flange that the wheels/drum hold onto is removable and is held onto the tapered axle shaft with a keyway and large center nut.

I believe 64 was the last year for this design. I was wondering if anyone knew if any later years are a direct replacement axle shaft for this style

I forgot about the bearings, try parts for a 65 Fury, the last time I needed an axel I went out to my local yard and picked one up.I was looking to replace two big bolt pattern axels from a big Chrysler with the 5 on 4.5 bolt pattern. They had racks of mopar axels so whith a tape measure I picked out what I needed...
I would think there would be a salvage yard you can call locally.

Thanks, I appreciate all the help. I have not been able to figure out what newer years fit and we do not have any salvage yards in my area to match up axles. I may have found a conversion kit through a local drive line company that should come with all new 1 piece shafts, bearings and retainers. I will update if anyone is interested in the future.
