69 dodge coronet no reverse

Hey Im new to the forum, i have a 1969 dodge coronet. Ive been having staling issues with the car lately. When i come to a light i have to shift to neutral and give it a little rev to keep it from staling out. Took it for a ride and did the usual and heard a clunk, think i over shot neutral and got into reverse. So now the issues is that i have no reverse and the car will creep when in gear, takes about a minute to get the car up to 30 mph!!! help will be greatly appreciated

chances are you either busted the rear band or poped a seal in the low reverse clutch pack.

Check the band adjustment on the outside of the trans IF it just screws in ? either the band broke or the anchor broke. DON'T drive it like that . The low/reverse drum will run out of control, very high speeds and could explode

It will be very obvious once you have the pan off
