727 Trans wont go into gear

Hey Guys
I'm new to this forum and looking for your help
I just got a 1936 Plymouth P1 with a 1968 Charger 383 Magnum bored 30 0ver with a mild cam and a 727 trans. Took it out the other day to a friends and when I went to start it it would not go into gear. towed it home and adjusted the linkage but now only have Park, Reverse, Neutral and 3rd gear it kind of whines in first and second but will not move. Oil is fine.
Any suggestions.

The front and rear bands are so worn/out of adjustment they will not hold? Drop the pan and check. The oil pump is worn out? Either way, it sounds like a major!

I agree... Sounds like the T.V. Linkage was out of adjustment and took out the clutch's...
Not a good sign.. Sounds like Overhaul time...
