Try Ordering and using the Morse Style cable. Much more Heavy Duty of a cable. You can get them from "PTO Sales" OR even Hindle Controls...

Just my 2 cents

Does it work on when its unhooked from the trans? I mean Will it move freely? If not lube the cable. Maybe we are missing something. I know... I had to lube the one on my 1968 Dodge D200 and also my 1977 31' Explorer motorhome with a 440/ 727 trans. I used Zep45 to free both of them up..

Keep us posted...

I took a small pair of vice grips on and tried to shift trans went down fine' but back up cable started to buckle. is it possible that because it has set so long that with out trans not pumping fluid that everything is not being lubed I changed filter 3 years ago but never ran engine after. other thing got in the way. thanks for your help its sure got me stumped mike-mhutch1948

Kind of sounds to me like it is just dry and needs lubrication in the trans area in that case.. You might want to just pull the pan, and see whats up, or just light it off and see if by running the unit it will free itself up after the fluid gets thrown around and about?

Boy. Thats a lot of projects to have going on!!!!! But sounds like fun...

Post changing out my 4 speed for a 727 torque flight

Have a 68 RR. A few years ago converted from 727 torque flight to a 4spd. Now I have left hip problems and have trouble shifting. Will I regret going back to the 727? to me a hot rod was always a 4 speed. Thanks

Have you driven a car with a hydraulic clutch? Peddle presser is minimal and smooth. There is probably a kit for your RR out there.
