I recently had a new 318 put in my D100. The torque convertor got water in it and was not completly drained. So i have water in tranny. Now, question is should i have it flushed? will it do good only for a bit or should i just get new tranny? Thanks

 

Depends on how much was in there, and how long it was in there. You might pull it off with a flush, but if there was a substantial amount, you probably tore up some bearings 'n things.

Is this water or antifreeze?

 

Well what happen was convertor got left in rain. The guy who put it in said he drained it but not good enough i guess. i ran it about 20 miles has it from time to time slipped out. i was low at first, added oil and it was less slip. havent moved it since. cant really say how much though.

 

I would definitely change the fluid. remove the small inspection cover on the bell housing cover Check to see if the converter has a small drain bolt ? Drop the pan and change the filter too !!!
Check the fluid level, run it thru the gears, then With the engine running in netrual check the fluid level Sounds low !!!!

 

Water is the mortal-enemy of clutch linings in auto trannys. You could try to drain the whole thing. I have heard of people drilling a hole in the TC, and using a 1/8" pipe-plug to close it up. By now though, any damage would be done. Listen for any whines. Other than a drain and flush, not much can be done except to cross your fingers. Sorry I dont have better news.
