Question TF727 Filter Extension/Spacer?

Just installed a cheap deep pan and I'm thinking about getting one of these....

The B&M versions are kinda spendy at $70 bucks though

Any cheaper options?

i would buy both from the same pace, so the parts match. i think the spacer is really a suction extension.

This is a pick-up extension for a deep pan. I picked up a pan last year at a swap meet but there was no pick-up extension. Thanks for the tip

Yeah, I got the cheap deep chrome pan from 440 Source, but they didn't have the extension.

Snake,

I just got my TCI 1.5 extra quart deep pan today. The package did not come with the filter extension; and in reading the document "Kit Contains" from TCI, the filter extension isn't listed.

I called TCI but their office is closed at this hour. So, I called Summit Racing and informed them that on their website for this product 128010 it says the kit comes with a filter extension. They tried calling TCI, but you already know this, TCI was closed. The summit racing Rep told me he doesn't know if the filter extension is needed??? He told me he would follow up with TCI tomorrow and let me know his findings.

Is the filter extension required? I understand the pan is deeper but the filter will still be submerged in the fluid.

I would say it is required !! Hard cornering could un cover the pickup

TvLynn,

Wouldn't hard cornering also uncover the pickup on a stock pan?

Just being objective here.

We have them in all our racing transmissions...... Why have a deep pan with a stock pickup?? You wouldn't get the advantage of the extra 2 quarts of fluid......

Yes.... Thats the point of the deep pan...So it wont uncover.... Or just makes it harder to uncovering,,,,
