66 Dodge Sub-frame question
66 Dodge Sub-frame question
Hey there,
I am planning to swap out the rusted sub frame on 66 Polara convertible.
It has a 318/727a package poly which I plan to keep.
I was told that I keep in mind that when I swap out the sub frame I should use only a sub frame for a 318 poly and not the 383 sub frame.
According to one fellow mopar gear head I met a few weeks back the subframe motor mount brackets are welded to the sub frame and different frames were used for different sized engines on the 65 & 66 sub frames.
Is this an accurate fact?

Thanks for your replies in advance everyone!

Dont hold me to this being fact, Cause it was a long time ago....
But I had a 1967 Dodge Monaco 383 car, and a friend of mine had a 1966 318 Polara he wanted to do a swap for a big block. I (think) after we looked at both of them there was more of a torsion bar, trans mount, and engine mount issue he did not want to get into. If I recall Correcly...
I dont remember the K-Member being that far out whack to have to change it out. At least on those models....
Might have to go look at a car show or 2 to compare.....
