Hi,
I want to install a brake booster on my 68 fury which has drum brakes all round. Does anyone have any advice on where to source parts, installation tips etc?

The ram man (Wayne) was really helpful to me just yesterday! He sells a complete unit..but will answer any question you may have..

If you haven't already, Do a google search with your year and make and power brakes..that should give you all kinds..

Thanks guys, ill check those places out. is installing the booster and/or converting to disks a relatively simple task to do with a basic mechanical knowledge such as mine?!

 

A lot of the kits are bolt in and do not require special tools. YOU CAN DO IT!!!

 

I used SSBC front caliper kit on my "65. Totally painless as I did not have to change
spindles or all that other crap you forage for in junk yards. Kitt under $1000 and it
came with everything - master, flex lines etc. It's based on Corvette brakes with
Girling 4 cylinder calipers. Serious braking for a kitt. I did not change the rears to
disk because it's a blatant waste of good that could be used wisely elsewhere.
Rears only do 20% of braking and that's mainly to stop nosedive and coming loose.
I did however install Hydroboost on my '65. It is truely easy to install and the best
braking system bar none. Had it with vacuum boosters because I had only 16 inches
of vacuum and that doesn't quite cut it.

 

Oh, by the way, I do have the correct booster you need and it is like new. I
believe it's a Bendix unit that mounts directly to the firewall. Took it out of
a '67 Fury and had it reconditioned. You can see it at:
