opnions on strut/shock choice
hello everyone,
i just bought a 1974 plymouth duster project. shes a daily driver.. and i got pulled over the first day i had her.. ha... so whats better? Lakewood 90/10 Series? Lakewood 70/30 Series for front shocks or would KYB Gas-a-Just/Shock/Strut be better
its everyday driver but im looking for somthing i can drag on the weekends.. possibly.. mostly for carshows..

My 2 pennies......I have never used Lakewood shocks so I don't know on those. I'm not a fan of kyb maybe because I've seen the cheaper ones.. My thought would be Very expensive but Viking makes an adjustable shock set that will adjust to daily driver then stiffen up for track, 19 different positions! I thought it was a bit overkill for me as I'm not headed to the track or raving at all.
But, I just bought a set of bilsteins for my 69 charger! Very good reviews from web and forums! They too are expensive "but it's what it needed" I told the wife!

Lakewood is not a primary manufacturer. They are a "relabeler" sorta like Sears so far as shocks are concerned. Frankly, I don't know who makes a good "bang for your buck" an who the least "chineseoed" might be. But I'd stick with the main brand name SHOCK people.
Unfortunately, Monroe, who's been in business before I was born, seem to be living more off the name than actual product.
