Power steering loses boost at low rpm - '70 AAR 'Cuda

Any thoughts about this? I worked for Chrysler in the late '60s and had a '69 Dart GTS company car that behaved exactly the same. Power steering would lose its boost at very low rp. (like foot off throttle turn into a driveway)

Offhand I don't know, but it's not too low. I'll check it on the tach and post another message. But actually I have another problem where sometimes the gast idle resets, so I have to give the throyyle a kick to slow it down. When it's idling correctly, it feels and sound right, doesn't stumble or hesitate...

Sounds like a throttle blade is sticking, maybe worn throttle shaft in the carb, or you need a better return spring, or throttle cable bad/too tight adjustment

AAR power steering issue

The car is idling, in drive, at about 1100 rpm according to the tach in the dash. (That is when the engine speed drops down correctly upon deceleration. When the fast idle resets, it idles a lot faster.) So I don't think a low idle is the cause of the power steering issue.

Have any of the pulleys been changed? larger for some accessories smaller for others? Maybe a smaller p/s pump pulley would help?
