Which steering box for B Body?
I have a leaking stock steering box in my 70 RR.
Option 1. Replace with Borgeson smaller and 15 lbs.lighter 14:1 ratio box and Bergman coupler. Bergman sells the complete conversion for $836.10 .
N/I shipping. No core required. No header issues. May need to cut steering shaft to fit coupler.
Option 2. I can either go with the Firm Feel stage 2 or 3 with the quick ratio kit to bring it to 12:1. All for around $580 N/I shipping.
Shipping core back to them or send them mine first. Some header issues.
Option 3. Buy a rebuilt unit from local parts store and install quick ratio kit.
Local core and some header issues.
Quick ratio kit would be the Proforged 116-10026 Firm Feel and Hotchkis are about $100 more. Some have said the Proforged is the same as the Hotchkis.
What are your thoughts fellas?

Just my 2 cents.... Quit-A-Few folks like the Firm Feel replacement's. Check the warranty also... Might make a difference.
I have a question.... Are you the guy that picked up MadDarts car off another site? I'm just wounding?

The Bergman Borgeson kit has a 3 year warranty and if you want to get crazy, you can still add the fast ratio pitman arm idle kit. Kinda leaning with this direction since it is a newer design steering box and it's smaller., no cutting with the new coupler design.
