16 volt Batteries
Does anyone know why all of a sudden there are 16 volt performance batteries showing up everywhere??? Are they starting something new in new cars or are they being used in place of the 12 volt batteries???

16V batteries, so far as I know, are only used in race cars NOT running a charging system. Remember, "12V" systems are NOT really 12V. They are really (running and charging) 13.8V
So a pretty much charged 16V battery with OUT a charging system is going to run close to 14V while running ignition, etc, + a little drop after cranking
