charging issue

So I have the powermaster 70 amp alternator. the one I just put on tests good when i took it in to partsource. my battery however is not charging past 11.5 volts.... Im thinking possibly an issue with the voltage regulator but Im confused now. I have tested everything I can think of. Any thoughts are helpful. Thanks everyone.

Is the powermaster internally regulated? Or is it a two field alternator made to be used with a 1970 Mopar voltage regulator?

11.5 is not charging AT ALL. Look at the powermaster. The ones with so called "internal regulator" or "one wire" which look like Mopar alternators are not really internal at all, but have a small rectangular regulator attached. If yours does not have this, it needs a conventional Mopar regulator, and if it does, either the alternator or regulator has problems.

One wire with built "on" regulator:

The alternator I am running is this one:

It is externally regulated. I am using the factory replacement 60 amp voltage regulator. I do have a new voltage regulator on order I just thought I would get everyone's thoughts seeing as the vr and alternator are both almost brand new. (less than 6 months)

Is there a different style vr I should change over to. I haven't heard anything significantly better without going to a 1 wire.....

Thanks guys.

How old is the battery and did you have that load tested? Just a thought.
