Correct colors, 1968 Plym Barracuda wiper motor

I have taken the wiper motor off to repaint the firewall. The wiper motor has a flat section that attaches to studs and a round can shaped section that appears to have been "gold(?)" in color. I went on line and found several for sale but they are black and look more like a blower than a windshield motor. I found some on ebay that look like mine that are $275 (nos) so I'd like to keep mine if it works. If I was to paint the can shaped part, what color would I use for both parts? Thanks.

Thanks

I was thinking about going that way so I appreciate this. I ordered a shop manual to try and figure some of this out.

No kidding

I am trying to change the heater core and so began the process of taking out the box. Of course I started at the fire wall with the four nuts on the studs but couldn't figure out how to get the box off the firewall. The box kept hitting the dash. I realized I had to take the cover off. Once I started removing the clips, I saw I couldn't get to two of them without removing the glove box liner. As I did, I saw that it had bulged downward. The previous owner had stapled a piece of cardboard from a shoebox over it. I tied to pull it out in one piece but it tore apart. Then I saw it was taped together so no problem. Okay. I finally get the heater box off the firewall. I found that it was held in place on the right side by a rod that looks like the type that hold batteries to the tray. This rod is badly rusted. I never got he box completely out. It is dangling by three cables that attach to metal rods (doors?) and I don't want to get up behind the radio to try and find out how they come out. By the way, the heater core looked good. Green water (from 1984!) came out and some brown water. I noticed one of the metal doors and rods that fits in the cover is badly rusted. I think this core was changed before and there must have been a leak. I still can't figure out how to unhook the cables to get the rest of the box out so I ordered a shop manual. No more guess work. Whew.

No kidding

I started taking pictures because I know I won't remember what goes where. I forgot to take pictures of the foam or filler they used in certain places under the hood and doors. Good advice.

One you unbolt the cable hold down clip that hold the cable. Then you can just slide the cable off if the door shaft....
