expert HELP needed

identified a slight dilemma with my 72 Challenger Rallye, just noticed or actually was noticed by a fellow Mopar guy that my dash has an 8k tach and supposedly should be 7k my dilemma is the clock adjuster goes through the lens as it should in 72 and the trip reset adjuster through lens as it should. do I need graveyard cars or do we have an awesome Mopar guy here
Thank you in advance

Me wouldn't think that hard......
But that's me.

It could be a replacement or reproduced part, mopar wasn't the best about the exact gauge when you ordered a new replacement, or it maybe correct for the car.

Use a sharpie and black out the 8. Problem solved! This could have been a replacement or it was what was supplied to the line when the car was built. They installed it and figured 25 years later it would not be a real dilemma.
