Headlight and dashlight issue

Can someone please help??? I have a 1972 Challenger and while driving at night with the lights on after approx. 15 minutes of driving my dash lights and head lights go out. Most of the time they go off for about 15 seconds and come back on by themselves. Once in a while they go off and they won't come back on for an extended period of time. I find it odd that they just go off without warning and after a short time driving. Switch problem? Wiring? any one else experienced this? Thanks!

I'm having the EXACT same problem with my 69 Super Bee! When you say to check the dimmer switch, are you referring to the high beam/low beam floor switch or the dash dimmer (or both)?

When they go off just tap the floor mounted dimmer switch see if they come back on
