Horn Relay Location

Hi,

In my '72 Polara Custom, the horn doesn't work. I connected both "trumpets" directly to the battery, and they function properly. Pushing on the wheel doesn't do anything, and I can't even hear a click from the relay.

Now I took the bottom part of the dash off, and looked at anyting that could resemble this, if this is even correct for 1972 (I don't know the exact part):

All I found was A/C blower relay, light delayer, flashers etc.
But I cannot find that darn metal box. The previous owner did tinker with the electrical, and I suspect he removed the relay and never put it back. Problem is for my car model and year, I'm not sure where that relay is located in the first place, and what's the correct prong pattern if I can find an empty connector.

Also, I looked at this, and that, nowhere does it shows the horn steering switch or relay. the dark-green red wire just gets lost.

Can anyone shine a light here?
Thanks!

Here, drop by FABO and download this factory (but Plymouth) shop manual for 72

http://www.forabodiesonly.com/mopar/...p?p=1970088617

All it says as to location (page 8-91) is "located under instrument panel on left pad or on fuse block"

Wiring diagrams start page 8-144, I'd guess Fury would be the same as your Dodge

So that's page 8-168 and it appears to me that it plugs into the fuse panel, and is indeed 4 terminals. This would be a combined horn relay and key buzzer. That is evidently why the diagrams you posted show it up by the fuses

H3-20BK coming in from the top comes in from your horn button and essentially grounds that terminal

H2-16 DGN/R goes out on pin 20 of the bulkhead connector

The violet picks up battery power

Pin 4 at far left goes to M16-20BK and is the key-in warning buzzer

Beautiful, thank you!

I've attached a shot I took of my fuse box: Compared it to the manual you provided, mine looks reverted, (right column, diagram is left) but the prong pattern seems to be the same.

So the relay would go into the 4 prongs that are to the top right of my fuse box. The other two terminals are empty.

So then, I'm assuming something like this or that works?

Update: I've received the relay (same as one pictured in my post above) and plugged it in the fuse box, and voila! Horn works, and so does the creepy key buzzer.

Thanks again guys!
