LED taillight bulbs for 64 newport?

Hello,
I have tried 2 different LED taillight bulbs that fit the socket in my 64 Newport, however they will not flash. Apparently there is too much resistance in the circuit for a low amp LED bulb?

Anybody find a bulb that works? Standard is a 1034 bulb and the newer 1157 all fit.

If not any recommendations for a good halogen bulb? I cannot find any reliable information.

Anyone found a good halogen headlight bulb that plugs in requiring no modifications?

Thank you, John

I did not know about the kit, so I just tried the bulbs. I see the older posts with info on the flasher etc. Thank you. This was very helpful

Bimetalic flasher need the current from a filament running through them to heat up and open. An electronic flasher doesn't.
