i have a lebaron but the wipers arent working. i looked at it and the arm (i dont know correct name) on the wiper motor isnt connected to the actual wipers. what should i do?

there's a motor under the dash that pushes an arm, that pushes the wipers. if the "wiper linkage bushings" dry up and fall apart, the arms come loose. do you hear the motor running when you turn it on?
