68 Cuda console ideas

Looking for some inspiration.

My Cuda was converted from auto to MT by the previous owner. There's no more center console, just a pistol grip shifter mounted on the hump. I 'think' a stock center console (MT version), though I can't say for sure because of the shifter baseplate size.

TBH, all I need is a place to drop my glasses/phone/cup holder. Any creative solutions people have tried? I'm OK even with one of those old school, garbage bins w/ the sandbags on each side to balance it on the hump. I remember my dad had one w/ an STP sticker on it. At least that thing can be removed when I want to make it look clean.

I've got a brick so I'm halfway there.

I looked at repro console solution and it can get pricey from what I gathered.

The Console dose look good in the Cuda's... Just my opinion... It just comes down to if you want to spend the Money... You just have to use the 4 speed one...

I have the original console for my '70 and when I see the prices at swap meets I just about fall over.

If I wanted one I'd build it, wood or fiber glas as close to stock appearance as possible and cover it with vinyl.

Not one of those space aged wrap up into the dash with a ton of gauges like some do.

Another option might be just wonder around the bone yard and find one from a more modern vehicle that suits your interior colour and your taste.
