My Dynasty's trunk lock cover feels like it will break off every time I move it, so I've resorted to using the button in the glovebox. But, I want to repair the problem, which I'm assuming has to do with the spring inside of it. How do I take it off of the trunk lid?

 

Open the truck... Remove the cover and remover the fastners holding the Emblem.... Then you can repair it...

 

So, I have to remove this whole locking system to get to it?

 

Yes... The retainers for the emblem will be behind that latch...You will see them once that's out of the way...
