I'm in the process of restoring a 1976 Dodge Dart 4 door sedan. Currently, I'm confronted with a rear frame rail issue. The back of the driver's side rear rail is pretty much gone. It's all still there, but when I pick at it, it pretty much just falls apart. This is only on the very rear of the car, only starting about halfway between the back of the wheel well and the back of the car. Forward of there, it's still good. Would I be okay simply fabricating a new section of rail, cutting the old rotted section off, and welding in the new fabricated section?
