help with 74 duster

I need some answers my gas gauge is acting up when I am driving it is fine but when I leave my foot off the gas it goes all the way down it is the same at idle but as soon as I start accelerating it climbs back up . Can anyone help thanks in advance

first check the battery and alternator, then the voltage regulator. and ground cables for all those. an old saying my dad said, "check the last thing you worked on," the good old VOM is your friend.

So your thinking its not getting enough volts when its at idle ? Because I was having an issue with my alt charging enough .

I just had the whole assembly out this weekend and it looked fine and registered good and it goes right back up when driving

Is it just when your driving? have you checked it while raising the engine RPM from idle?
