Welcome!

That Dart would make one sick sleeper with a big block V8 in it. What does it have in there now for a drivetrain? Any pics?

That is a very ambitious project for a Newbie. You might want to start with the basics. This is how cars get dis-assembled and never rebuilt only to end up as parts cars.

you have to modify the engine compartment to fit a 440 in there

YES!!!!! just have to put big block motor mounts in. and maybe diffrent tranny crossmember mounts in. my dad, i, and friend put a 440 in a 68 barracuda WITH power stearing if we can put rb in that. you can put a rb in ur dart no problem.,

since you are a 66, a 440 will not just go right on
it will not fight
you must modify the engine compartment

sorry i miss read the yr thanks gtx. come to think of it didnt those come with either a 904 or a manual? we had a 64 we put a 340 with a 727 and we had to cut and rebuild part of the fire wall and floor becouse the 727 was a bigger externally.

I put a 727 behind my 360. The only thing iid had to do (for the tranny to fit) was lower the mount 2 inches. Good luck with the headers. your looking at custon headersto fit it in.
